Jennifer Buster (math) was raised in Washington State by parents who were both high school math teachers. Growing up with a love for learning and a special interest in math, her first job in ninth grade was as a math tutor. In high school, her interests were diverse, and she went on to graduate from Brigham Young University with a B.F.A in Theater Education and a minor in Math. After marrying her husband, Michael, they moved to the Los Angeles area where she taught math at Burbank High School. Classes ranging from pre-Algebra to Algebra II/trig were challenging to say the least with 50+ students per class, no textbooks, and occasionally guns and knives appearing in the classroom. A little disillusioned by the violence in the classroom, she took a different route while living in L.A. and became a television and film casting director. She worked in the casting industry for the past 12 years, first in California, then in Utah, after moving here with her family in 2006. Jennifer enjoyed success in the casting field, working on such projects as Seinfeld; The Drew Carey Show; My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding; and Band of Brothers with Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg. While casting, she was never too far from teaching, however. She taught youth acting workshops and continued to tutor math students individually. Last year, she taught the K12 math curriculum to three home-schooled students and fell in love with the K12 system. She is very excited to return to her roots and be in the classroom teaching math again.

Jennifer is a resident of Daybreak and her oldest of three children is a third grader at Early Light Academy. She has a passion for teaching and learning, for math in particular, and is excited to work with her students to help them achieve their full potential.
