Janine Josie (Math) graduated from Southern Utah University (SUU) with a B.S. degree in Math Education and a minor in Library Media. At SUU, she worked in several different positions in the Math Department, including math supplementary instructor. Janine also was a teacher’s assistant for Cedar Middle School’s Special Education Department, where she was in charge of the physical education program. Janine has been a math tutor for grades ranging from middle school to college. As an educator, Janine is passionate about helping students become life-long learners who enjoy math and feel empowered to discover on their own. She encourages her students to respect each other and different cultures. In the classroom, she spends a great deal of time working with students, both on a group and individual level. Janine was born and raised close by in Herriman, Utah and graduated from Riverton High School. She missed the area greatly while she lived away, and is excited to move back and be part of the ELA team. Janine enjoys spending time with her husband, Karsten, and son, Ryan. She also enjoys hiking and camping in Utah’s beautiful outdoors, reading, and traveling abroad. She looks forward to expanding her travels with her husband and son in the years to come. |
