Rhiannon Lind grew up in South Jordan, the oldest of four children. Of the six members of her family, five work in education.

Rhiannon enjoys traveling and has had the opportunity to visit many interesting places, including multiple trips to Europe and extensive travel within the United States. She spent a semester studying comparative religion and history in Israel and Egypt, and taught English and studied culture in China. Her other interests include art history, reading, playing the piano, scuba diving, and attending concerts and the theater. She loves sports, especially playing golf and tennis, and looks forward to competing in local tournaments. During the summer, she tutors children in reading.

Rhiannon graduated from Copper Hills High School, received an associate’s degree from Ricks College (now BYU Idaho), and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University. Her teaching career in the charter school community then began as she taught the 4th and 6th grade for four years at Timpanogos Academy in Lindon, and the 4th grade for one year at George Washington Academy in St. George. After St. George, she accepted a position with K12 and spent the past two years working as the Teaching Learning Coordinator for C. S. Lewis Academy in Santaquin. Rhiannon’s extensive experience with charter schools and K12 curriculum make her a great resource, and she looks forward to making Early Light Academy an excellent place for students to reach their potential.

A note from Rhiannon on her position at K12—

“People often ask me why my position is called a TLC. Simply put, my job is to provide Tender Loving Care as the Teaching Learning Coordinator! My role is to ensure the successful implementation of the K12 program at Early Light Academy.

Teaching requires reflection on the best teaching practices for our students. This is done by providing demonstration lessons for teachers, co-teaching, working with small groups of students, leading professional development sessions for the staff, and demonstrating research-based instructional practices.

Learning means taking advantage of growth opportunities that will lead to student success. As such, I provide teachers with relevant educational research, observe staff as they teach, participate in TLC professional development, and participate in weekly TLC conference calls.

Coordinating down to the smallest detail leads to significant impact on student achievement. This is achieved through monitoring progress of the K12 curriculum, leading team meetings, assisting parents with their online school (OLS), providing parents with suggestions of how to help at home, and making sure students and teachers are provided with materials.

Ultimately, my goal is to offer support and resources to teachers and parents that will provide the students of Early Light Academy the opportunity to reach their full potential!”
