Kalina Potts (4th grade) was born in a small town on the Danube river in Bulgaria, Europe. She began her career by teaching English at a local school. She then graduated from the University of Velico Tarnovo with a B.A. in Elementary Education where she had the opportunity to participate in the ”Work and Travel Abroad‘ program. Her destination was Salt Lake City, Utah, where she met her husband and decided to stay in Utah. Coming to a new country was a big change, especially with her two sisters and parents still in Rousse, Bulgaria. English may be her second language, but she has spoken and studied it for most her life, along with Bulgarian and Russian. Kalina taught at Lincoln Elementary before coming to ELA. She is pleased to further her teaching experiences here, and looks forward to meeting her new students and their families. |
