Tricia Remington (6th grade) loves being a schoolteacher, especially when it involves teaching ancient history and the 6th grade. She has taught school for 15 years, 12 of which she taught the 6th grade, in 3 different states. Her favorite units include teaching about the Cradle of Civilization to World War II. She aims to not only provide her students with great content about these civilizations, but also teach through visual aids, hands-on activities, and writing projects. Tricia understands that 6th grade is a very important and transitional year, and loves the challenge of preparing students for middle school. She expects a lot out of her students and enjoys helping them meet and rise above her expectations. Tricia attended the University of Hawaii, where she earned a degree in Elementary Education and played on the Wahine Basketball team. She enjoys playing basketball, waterskiing, and playing city league softball. She also loves eating—Italian, Mexican, and chocolate are some of her favorite foods. She has the cutest poodles ever, named Maggie and Tucker. She is a people person and loves to laugh. Tricia is very excited for the opportunity to teach at ELA! |
