Minnie Sylvester grew up in the Philippines and speaks fluent Tagalog.  She came to the United States to study at BYU-Hawaii where she received her degree in Special Education. She thrives being around people; hearing their stories, adventures and their life lessons.  

Minnie enjoys experimenting on cooking, letter writing, different cultures, traveling, and spending a lot of time with family and close friends.  She is blessed to have 4 children with her husband.  Her motto is "learn something new each day" , big and small or from young and old. She is grateful to be a part of the ELA team.
